Let's Spring Forward Together

I've got to admit, I haven't felt like cooking and entertaining much in the last 6 months.
It's been a trying time politically...socially...emotionally and blog posts have been the last thing on my mind. That said, with the new year came some new perspective and a renewed sense of purpose around Food With Friends. 

More than ever it feels important to create spaces and permission for connection. In an increasingly divisive and fear-driven culture, talking to strangers, finding common ground and breaking bread comes with added challenge and significance.

It also feels imperative to highlight the cultures, and in my case, the food, of countries and people being misrepresented. I want to celebrate and recognize real people for their real contributions to history and eating and just plain, partying. I learned how to eat and drink and set a table by looking at the traditions in Spain, Israel, Argentina, and Korea. They've been entertaining a lot longer than we have, lets honor that history and celebrate with them.
