Building Community One Meal At A Time

Food + Education + Connection

Join the Party

Craving a way to meet new people, rebuild community in LA and get back in the kitchen, Food With Friends was born in the summer of 2014. A monthly dinner series, each meal brings together 16 people for a seasonal and thematic menu driven by local and sustainable ingredients. Though what is on the table is undoubtedly the star of the show, it is the people around the table who make these events so special. Every month, friends and strangers sit around a table, put their phones away and break bread together. Casual, warm and home-y, guests become family over flowing wine and a home cooked meal.

     Let's Get Cooking

Whether you’re 5 or 50, learning to cook isn’t just about making complicated recipes, it’s about self care, nourishment and the ability to connect with our bodies, cultures and planet through food.

About Carter

I've been in the kitchen since day one, literally. I came into the world as my mom prepped for a catering event, arriving just in time for the party. My earliest memories were being propped up on the counter, touching and tasting everything.

I trained in the kitchens at Lucques, AOC and Grace under inspiring and award winning chefs who have built careers highlighting the abundance of vibrant ingredients here in Los Angeles.

This experience is paired with a lifelong cooking education from my Southern and Jewish grandmothers who taught me to infuse all my food with nourishment and love. Today, I wear multiple hats, all knit together by a passion for social activism, cultural curiosity and bringing people together around delicious food.
